We offer a 2-hour field trip experience at our Forest School Basecamp at Doolittle Park (Fall/Spring) and at the Otto Preserve (Winter). Our program encourages natural movement outdoors, offers guided sensory integration activities, and provides observational learning opportunities, whilst facilitating integration of core science standards. Each field trip includes an opening circle, a guided hike, and a closing circle. We offer 5 specific field trip programs, as well as the option to tailor a field trip to meet your class’s needs.

A - Biodiversity and Beaks - We will discover birds specific to our area, their habitat, risks to their habitat, and the concept of carrying capacity.

B - Leafing the Classroom Behind - We will focus on identifying, observing, and learning more about the trees in our region.

C -Nature’s Data - A 5 Senses Investigation - We will learn how to deeply engage our five senses through nature based, sensory activities.

D - Mitten Prints and Wildlife Hints - We will use the questions of who, what, where, how, and why to identify animal tracks and investigate their behavior.

E- Stream Scouts - We will use macro identification to explore aquatic life at the stream and pond.

Field Trips are available year-round on Mondays 9AM-3PM, Tuesday 9AM-3PM, Wednesday 9AM-3PM, Thursday 9AM-12, and Friday 12-3PM.

Program Fees: $5 per student (ages 2.5 and up) or $100 for a class up to 30 students.
