reforestation. planting. education. careers.
Get ready to get your hands dirty for a greener tomorrow! Join the American Youth Foundation, Oceana Conservation District, MSU Extension 4H, and The Tree Lab for an immersive, educational afternoon of discovery at Camp Miniwanca. Explore through the Tree Lab’s specialized STEM education stations to learn about large-scale conservation efforts affecting Oceana County and how these activities can turn into careers!
Experience four interactive Tree Lab stations:
Nursery School: Master the art of the clones! Learn how to grow massive forests from tiny cuttings!
Timber Tech: Ever wonder how the pros manage a forest? Meet expert arborists and see the gear (and the grit) it takes to maintain healthy timber.
Agroforestry Command Center: Where tech meets the trails. Use drones to design a resilient forest landscape from the ground up!
The Tree Planting Experience: Leave your mark! Dig in and plant a native white pine tree to help restore critical dune habitat from the destruction of the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid.
You will be able to take a tree seedling home and start your own backyard forest!
