Join Stewardship Coordinator Emma Waatti and MSU Extension water resources educator and limnologist Erick Elgin to celebrate and learn about Pentwater Lake’s important ecological role. This event will be a group paddle on Pentwater Lake to explore the lake and learn about the diversity of aquatic plants that support this special ecosystem. We will be highlighting the important work happening to manage aquatic invasive species and preserve this unique area. Our experts come from two different organizations and will be there to answer questions, give you aquatic plant ID tips, and share their knowledge!
Participants are responsible for providing their own watercraft (i.e. kayak or canoe) and personal flotation devices (PDF) - PDFs will be required. If you don’t have watercraft or a PFD of your own, please contact Emma Waatti at emma.waatti@macd.org to see if we can set you up with the materials needed for this event. For those with mobility concerns, we will have a brief presentation on land if you wish to join for a brief, quick learning session!
