Learn how to care for your backyard fruit trees to optimize tree health and fruit production. This hands-on pruning workshop will be provided by MSU Extension fruit production experts, and conservation district staff to bring best practices in fruit tree care to the home orchard scale. Highlights of the workshop include site selection and early establishment choices, pruning to set your trees up for success, wildlife management techniques, pruning techniques for disease management and optimal fruit production and renovation pruning for mature trees.
This field day is a cooperative effort by the Oceana Conservation District, Mason-Lake Conservation District and MSU Extension in partnership with the West Central Michigan Research and Extension Center.
