Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

Learn how to care for your backyard fruit trees to optimize tree health and fruit production. This hands-on pruning workshop formal will be provided by MSU extension fruit production experts, and conservation district staff to bring best practices in fruit tree care to the home orchard scale. Highlights of the workshop include site selection and fertility choices, pruning to set your trees up for success, wildlife management techniques, pruning techniques for disease management and optimal fruit production and renovation pruning for mature trees.

This field day is a cooperative effort by the Oceana Conservation District and MSU Extension in partnership with the West Central Research Station. The second part of two spring planting workshops, please also join us for the Tree & Shrub Planting Presentation in partnership with Mason-Lake Conservation District on Friday, March 6, 2026, to learn more about tree and shrub selection and planting!
