Come be a steward! Anyone high school age and up that are interested in helping to keep our highways litter-free is invited to join us for our Adopt-A-Highway events. Each year, there is one in the spring, summer, and fall. Our stretch of highway is US-31 from the Polk Rd exit in Hart going north to the Wayne Rd. overpass.
Lots of traffic passes through our county on US-31 in the summer months thus keeping the area clean and inviting helps encourage passers-by to stop and see what our county has to offer. Not to mention it helps keep the drivers safe from blowing debris.
Make a tangible difference right in your own community. It just isn’t about picking up litter; it’s an opportunity to demonstrate environmental stewardship. Your participation makes a difference and helps preserve the natural beauty around us by limiting the amount of trash and microplastics that find their way into our beloved waterways!
If you or your group would like to help on any specific day during these weeks, please let us know and we'll plan clean-up days around your schedule as much as possible.
